Our Story

South Texas and the Northeast of Mexico are rich in mesquite and oak trees. The best type of charcoal is made with these hardwoods. They are very high-density woods; that's why mesquite and oak charcoal lasts long and burns very hot.

Old West has been in the charcoal business since 2010, initially making and packing charcoal for other brands in Mexico and the US. We then launched our own brand with the highest quality standards.

All these years of experience give us what's needed to provide a very high quality product, consistently, at a very competitive price.

Old West is made by Charcoal Source, producers and packagers of hardwood lump charcoal and briquettes in Northeast Mexico.
