Frequently asked questions

Old West is 100% natural lump charcoal made only with a blend of oak and mesquite hardwoods. It has no additives or artificial flavor.

They are very high-density woods, so oak and mesquite charcoal lasts long and burns very hot. The blend gives the right amount of smoky flavor: not too strong, not too weak.

We double screen our charcoal, so very small pieces and dust are never packed in our bags. The handling and shipping process can create small amounts of dust, which is normal for all lump charcoal brands.
